Special and/or sensitive private data that we process

Our website and/or service does not intend to collect data on website visitors under age 16, unless the parents or guardian have given permission. However, there is no way for us to verify that a visitor actually is over age 16. We therefore advise parents to take an active part in their children’s online activities in order to prevent data being collected on children without parental permission. If you are convinced that we have collected private data on a minor without such permission, please contact us on info@hgg-group.com. We will remove the relevant data.

Purpose and legal basis

This section sets out the purpose and legal basis for processing private data. HGG International bv processes your private data for the following objectives:

  • Processing your payment
  • Forwarding our newsletter and/or commercial leaflets
  • To be able to call or email you if necessary for the provision of our services
  • To inform you about changes to our products and services
  • To offer you the option of creating an account

  • HGG International bv analyses your behaviour on the website in order to improve the website and personalise the range of products and services to your preferences.
  • HGG International bv also processes private data if this is a statutory requirement, such as data we require to file our tax forms.

Automated decision-making process

HGG International bv does not make decisions based on automated processing regarding issues that may have significant consequences to persons. This concerns decisions that are made by computer programmes or systems without any human input (for example an HGG International bv employee).

How long we retain private data

HGG International bv retains your private data no longer than strictly necessary to realise the objectives for which your data are collected. We apply the following retention periods for the following private data and data categories:

Supplier data

Corporate data regarding our suppliers and details of our contacts in the relevant organisation are stored in our database for the duration of the collaboration. The supplier is independently responsible for providing and updating the private data of their contacts and/or account managers. Two years after termination of our collaboration with the supplier, we remove the contact data of suppliers from our database. The order history is retained for 10 years for service and aftersales purposes.

Customer data

Details about customers and the relevant purchasing history are retained for a period of 20 years after the date of purchasing a product and/or service. This is necessary in order to provide long-term service (at least for the economic life of the machine) and to guarantee and/or trace the quality of products or cutting services.

Private data for commercial purposes

Private data for commercial purposes provided to us by entering an online or paper form are retained until no longer necessary for completion of the relevant actions pursuant to the form. If you register for our newsletter, to which you are added exclusively after granting explicit permission, we will continue to inform you regarding our services, products, events and knowledge articles with the newsletter until you unsubscribe from our newsletters, or if you have not opened our messages for two years. Each newsletter contains a link you can click to unsubscribe from our commercial communications and/or view and update your private data.

If you register verbally for our newsletters, we also apply the above working method after verification by email.

Sharing private data with third parties

HGG International bv does not sell your data to third parties and will exclusively provide these if required for the execution of our agreement or based on compliance with a statutory requirement. We conclude a processor agreement with any companies processing your data at our instructions in order to ensure they apply the same level of security and confidentiality of your data. HGG International bv remains responsible for such processing.
